I know it is still a bit early in the year, but does anybody know some good places for blueberry and huckleberry picking. I will be having a visitor over who is nuts about blueberries, blueberry pie and huckleberry pancakes.
We used to go blueberry picking on Elk Island and along Hwy 59, just south of the turnoff for Belair.
Does anybody have some other good places they can recommend?

Follow-up comment rss or Leave a TrackbackWe used to go to an area between Prawda and Sandilands. We would just turn off one of the gravel roads on the south side of Hwy. 1. Haven’t been in years, though. Lots of Saskatoon berry picking farms in MB, but no blueberry farms that I’ve been able to find. If you find a good spot, let me know. As I remember, though, my granny was pretty tight-lipped in mixed company about where her picking patch was located….
