A 22 year old fisherman fell into the churning Winnipeg River just below the Hydro Dam at Powerview on Tuesday.

Manitoba Government: thousands of dollars for home owners with geothermal

When building a new home the owner can receive up to $2,000 in a refundable Green Energy Equipment Tax Credit and $1,000 in grants for installing geothermal heating and cooling.

Listeriosis, another food scare in Canada this summer

First it was tomatoes from the States with salmonella, then salmonella in Cilantro now its listeriosis in meat products! This last food scare is the worst yet. Quite a few people have actually died from food poisoning and the resulting infection.

The problem seems to originate from a Maple Leaf processing plant in Toronto.
