At about 1 pm today there was a phone call to report a bomb in Elmwood Highschool in East Kildona, Winnipeg – according to a spokeswoman with Winnipeg School Division.

Police sent students off into a field adjacent to the school and cordoned off the school property. After searching the premises for an hour the school was deemed safe though and students and staff were allowed back in.

Chalmers avenue has been re-opened for traffic by police.
