The perfect weather we’ve been having for the past few days has brought – it seems – everybody and their relatives to Hillside Beach. Cars Parked on the side roads for about a mile.

Idle Thyme Restaurant to go back to summer hours

The Idle Thyme Restaurant in Traverse Bay, Manitoba, will be open from 8:00 am until 7:00 pm on Monday ,Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday.
and Friday and Saturday they will open at 8:00 am and close at 8:00 pm.

Veranda Gift Shop Hillside Beach

Hmmm…am I the only one blogging here (seems the last 3 posts were mine) or am I not using this thing properly?

Well its Dec 28 and the weather is nice (-12C when I checked the thermometer this morning @ 7:00). Today is starting off sunny. Went for a walk down to the boat launch (on Harry Craig road).
Went for a spin last night on my Polaris Indy. The sno pass trails were kind of rough

Cold at the beaches

December 13 Veranda Gift Shop: It was -30c this morning with a bit of a wind (with wind chill -35). But that did not stop the snowmobilers (saw several this morning). Not to much traffic here on Hillside Beach rd. Everybody (except some crazy snowmobilers are staying home by the fireplace

Abnormal Winter Weather everywhere

..below zero temperatures for close to three months now. On Friday there was a big pile-up on one of the Autobahns near Augsburg. There were 72 vehicles involved. Only the older generation remembers that snow and frost used to be normal for winter.
Manitoba at least seems to be having a winter with a lot less snow and higher temperatures than it used to.

Hillside Ratepayers Association has further developed Charlie Wall Park

This year a playground has been installed, and we are hoping to go even further in the next few years with sports grounds and climbing equipment, culminating in an all-weather shelter so families can enjoy the area and events can be planned in the park no matter the weather! This is a welcome addition
