Looking out my front door this morning I finally understood why the willows and cedars I planted last year don't seem to grow and hardly have any new shoots this spring. There was this full sized deer nibbling away at the fresh leaves of the young willows.
A boat from Poplar River River with a crew of three capsized on Lake Winnipeg yesterday. The crew was going to pick up bouys on the Lake to clear up before winter when they ran into engine trouble.
As part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site nomination on the east side of Lake Winnipeg. Manitoba's Natural Resources Minister Stan Struthers and his Ontario counterpart joined forces today to protect an area in both provinces. One of the goals of this plan is to better protect the woodland caribou that live in this region.
