As part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site nomination on the east side of Lake Winnipeg. Manitoba’s Natural Resources Minister Stan Struthers and his Ontario counterpart joined forces today to protect an area in both provinces.

My next problem was Cilantro. Now what the heck might that be. I had to check it up. Cilantro is actually the name of the plant that produces the Coriander seeds. I like using freshly crushed dried Coriander for Lamb Provencial, together with fresh rosemary, thyme and garlic in a red wine marinade. Does that mean I have to leave out the coriander seeds, or is just the green part of the plant infected? (which I have never used anyway)
A 12 year old boy and his 14 year old brother went out target shooting last Wednesday with a legally registered .22-calibre bolt-action rifle at a farm near Kelwood, Manitoba.
The accident was described as a self inflicted injury by the RCMP, as the gun apparently accidentally discharged and hit the boy in the head.
The fact that mosquito traps caught a few more just proves that they are there and they are here to stay. Nobody seriously believes that we will ever be able to get rid of mosquitoes in Manitoba. So don’t hope that all the spraying in the World will rid us of: Culex tarsalis or West Nile Virus.
They reported they had thought of chasing the Sasquatch, but were too unnerved by the sighting and even gave up their berry picking. The creature had really scared them, especially when they returned later with others and found a large, six-toed footprint.

The Icelandic Festival or Islendingadagurinn starts today in Gimli. It is the 119th occurance of this annual festival.
The event will culminate in the annual parade on Monday. The parade will start at 10 am and will be attended by Iceland’s foreign minister Ingibjorg Solrun Gisladottir who is expected to toast Canada.
