According to a Manitoba cabinet minister there are several people living in squalor and deplorable conditions on Sagkeeng First Nation / Fort Alexander reserve! He intends to contact the federal Indian Affairs minister in an effort to have the conditions improved.

Several politicians were shown around the reserve last Monday by the chief and other band officials. By appealing to the politician’s conscience they were hoping to improve what band Chief Donavan Fontaine called the worst of the situation. Some band officials would like to receive more funding from the federal Indian Affairs minister, Chuck Strahl for better housing and living conditions.
