So it’s a lose lose situation for us consumers. The only thing we know for sure is that gasoline is expensive and likely to remain so. We also know that the only ones that are profiting are the oil companies and the government.

Sowohl Fahrradweg als auch Fußweg werden so stark eingeengt, daß es immer wieder zu Beinahezusammestößen zwischen Fahrradfahrer und Fußgänger kommt. Um für die Autos mehr Platz zu schaffen wurd eine Fahrspur auf den Fahrradweg gelenkt!

For most of us in this area the outages only lasted for a few hours. Some parts of Vancouver on the other hand have been without power for 3 days already – and some won’t be able to turn on their electric stove till late Wednesday according to the BC Hydro Company. 2000 customers were without power there. The traffic lights didn’t work and absolute chaos resulted. I’m glad that didn’t happen here! Could you imagine being without traffic lights for 3 whole days?
The Festival was ended with former Kinks frontman Ray Davies playing his Waterloo Sunset as a kind of swan song to a great party and a great fesitval.
People may even have to think twice before planning a weekend trip to the cottage. For most families a trip to the Lake from Winnipeg and back with their family car will cost them between 40 and 50 Liters of gasoline. Ärger mit Parkausweis
Immer wieder Ärger mit dem Parken. Unlängst haben wir unser Auto Korrekt in unserer Strasse geparkt, “mit gut sichtbarem Parkausweis”. Trotzdem bekamen wir eine Geldstrafe bzw. Geldbuße. Da anscheinend der Kontrollor diesen nicht sehen konnte. Schwachsinn, denn dieser ist immer gut sichtbar recht vorne angebracht, sogar mit Klebeband, so dass dieser nicht runterfallen kann o. ähnliches
Fahrrad Bußgeld, Berechtigt oder doch nicht?
Auch ich hatte gestern ein Gespräch mit einem Fahrrad Fahrer, der gleich “25€” berappen musste. Für was? Nun, er war auf dem Fahrrad Weg Richtung Innen Stadt unterwegs. Bei einer Ampel, die wohlbemerkt grün war, wollte er weiterfahren (auf dem Fahrradstreifen), doch der Streifen war verperrt (durch ein Parkendes Auto), also nahm er den Fussweg, stieg auf halbem Wege ab und ging, also Überquerte die Strasse nach halbem Wege zu Fuss, sein Rad schiebend.
