A 12 year old boy and his 14 year old brother went out target shooting last Wednesday with a legally registered .22-caliber bolt-action rifle at a farm near Kelwood, Manitoba.
The accident was described as a self inflicted injury by the RCMP, as the gun apparently accidentally discharged and hit the boy in the head.
The boy was first rushed to Neepawa hospital and then on to the Health Sciences Center in Winnipeg. He is now supposed to be stable, but critical condition.
