A Cessna 207 Skywagon flying for Northways Aviation had to make an emergency landing Friday afternoon.

The plane had started off at St. Andrews Airport with a pilot and three passengers ( two women and a baby ) aboard, bound for Bloodvein. No injuries were reported, though a truck driver on the highway got a scare when he had to pull over into the ditch and was still narrowly missed by the plane.

The single engine aircraft took off from St. Andrews Airport along McPhillips, just north of Winnipeg, and experienced engine trouble. This forced the pilot to make an emergency landing on Hwy 8. Pilot and passengers, as well as people on the ground were uninjured.

When I took flying lessons at St. Andrews, my instructor told me that any land you can walk away from is a good landing. I guess this was a prime example!
