Looking out my front door this morning I finally understood why the willows and cedars I planted last year don’t seem to grow and hardly have any new shoots this spring.
There was this full sized deer nibbling away at the fresh leaves of the young willows. I should have thought that at this time of year there would be enough other stuff for them to eat.
Maybe I should go and borrow a rifle from somebody and then serve the neighbours roast venision.
