I also like Winter though. I guess you have to, if you want to spend any kind of time in Manitoba.

Weather forecast called for a high of 11 today. Thats about where it’s at. They also predict a chance of snow by tomorrow morning and a lot cooler weather with frost at night for the coming week. So enjoy the rest of today, it might not get this warm again this year.

A boat from Poplar River River with a crew of three capsized on Lake Winnipeg yesterday. The crew was going to pick up bouys on the Lake to clear up before winter when they ran into engine trouble.

This week-end at the Lake is expected to be perfect Fall cottage weather. Mainly sunny on Saturday with 0% chance of percipitation and sunny on Sunday.

For tonight there has been a Green-thumb alert, a frost warning, for parts of Manitoba.

This will probably not affect the beaches area due to warmth from the Lake, but if you have sensitive plants you might want to prepare none the less.

After a wonderful Saturday with perfect beach weather fall seems to have come. We had a great party and bonfire on Saturday night with nice and warm weather right up to midnight. Thursday the hot weather ended with a bang! My power kept failing here in Hillside Beach during the night. There was lots of severe rain and strong winds, accompanied by thunder and lightning.

The best thing though, was when I stopped at Traverse Bay Corner on my way back, to try the excelent turkey dinner at the Idle Thyme. I actually saw a man carrying a bag of wood for the fireplace out of the store!
