Thousands of residents had to flee their damaged homes in panick this morning, as a multiple massive explosions detonated in a North Toronto propane facility.
A radius of 1.6 km around the Sunrise Propane Industrial Gases in the Keele and Wilson area of the northern end of Toronto was evacuated by the police this early Sunday morning. Many residents are elderly, some have cuts and light injuries, due to the massive explosions that knocked all the glas windows out of some residential buildings. Even after 5 hours two big propane containers are still burning!
Police and rescue workers have brought in busses to help evacuate the residents. City tax drivers are also assisting in the evacuation. Some evacuees were issued masks, but preliminary air tests have not revealed any high levels of toxins.
