The other day I got an email supposedly from Service@cra-arc.gc.ca titled: Lncf Canadian Revenue Agency uepy which claimed it was a Canada Revenue Agency Online Refund Form.
The email stated that after recalculating my fiscal activity for the last year I was entitled to a tax refund of 386.00. I assume they mean Dollars. Sounded good, especially since I had just handed in my receipts a month before for an audit.
On closer inspection though, the link they were offering me where I should enter my personal details would have directed me to a server in Taiwan(http://www.tinlex.com.tw/cira/getStatus_en.htm – note the .com.tw before the first slash)! Now I know everybody is outsourcing to Asia these days, but that the CRA would have Taiwan do my taxes is rediculous!
This email is a fraud. Don’t click on any of the links, don’t send them any of your details!

Hey everyone!
All of the current stories of the down fall of the economy and loss of jobs has been driving most americans insane!
I started looking on line for some way to get help and discovered that the government gives free grants.
What I would like to know is…. does anyone know what website I can find free grant applications at?
THANKS!

Thanks for the warning! I think it’s pretty obvious that this would be a scam, but thanks for the info anyway!
