4P Festival in Pine Falls and Powerview Manitoba on Labour Day Weekend
The festival was started in 1982 by the Manitou Rapids Art Council of Pine Falls / Powerview and is dedicated to Paper, Power, Pea and Pickeral. Thus the four Ps.

Lots of rain, high winds and power outages
Thursday the hot weather ended with a bang! My power kept failing here in Hillside Beach during the night. There was lots of severe rain and strong winds, accompanied by thunder and lightning.

I saw cottagers buy wood for their stoves today
The best thing though, was when I stopped at Traverse Bay Corner on my way back, to try the excelent turkey dinner at the Idle Thyme. I actually saw a man carrying a bag of wood for the fireplace out of the store!

Winnipeg Police are saying not to argue when getting mugged!
It sort of startled me. No the police did not say they are there to serve and to protect, they are telling us to be meek and let ourselves get mugged

Passenger goes berserk on flight from Vancouver to Winnipeg
A passenger from BC caused quite a ruckus on a WestJet flight from Vancouver to Winnipeg last week. He apparently verbally and physically attacked crew members and did 5000 Dollars worth of damage.

West Nile is here Culex tarsalis found in Selkirk and Beausejour
The mosquito Culex tarsalis that can carry the West Nile Virus is getting closer to the Eastern Beaches Area. The first mosquitos of the species have been found as close as Selkirk and Beausejour.
