Restaurant at Lake Winnipeg – what kind of service do you expect, what type of food and what range of choices?

There are many people that have cottages along Lake Winnipeg. Lately it has been obvious that there has been a generation change which is actually still ongoing. Cottage owners tend to be younger families and younger owners. Obviously this younger generation has different expectations than their parents and grand parents.
That also includes eating out and just food in general.
This is why we are creating this poll

Thanksgiving Dinner at Lake Winnipeg

There are many ways to celebrate and express thanks at Thanksgiving. Even in difficult times, there are always things for which to be grateful.
Many Resaurants are closed, because of the bad economy. But on Traverse Bay Corner, the Idle Thyme Restaurant didn’t. It is still open. (Thanks Cheryl)
So you can go there for your Thanksgiving Dinner.

Summer may be over, but even in Fall and Winter there are events and aktivities that make the Beaches along Lake Winnipeg worth a visit or a short relaxing holiday. Pleasant hiking in Automn, peaceful and quiet for those that want to escape the hubbub of the city. Spending quality time at the Lake in the offseason can be really worthwhile.
And what to do after a long day of hiking or quiet relaxation? Well we all go to the Idle Thyme Restaurant at Traverse Bay Corner. The restaurant is open 7 days a week

Blackouts and power outages after high winds

For most of us in this area the outages only lasted for a few hours. Some parts of Vancouver on the other hand have been without power for 3 days already – and some won’t be able to turn on their electric stove till late Wednesday according to the BC Hydro Company. 2000 customers were without power there. The traffic lights didn’t work and absolute chaos resulted. I’m glad that didn’t happen here! Could you imagine being without traffic lights for 3 whole days?
