Summer is almost over things have quited down

The Idle Thyme Restaurant now closes at 2 pm on weekdays.
The Traverse Bay Store closes at 7 pm on weekdays
The Hillside Beach Store will stay open till 8pm and close its kitchen at 7:30 pm during the week.
Saffies in Albert Beach will stay open till 8 pm during the week.

Listeriosis, another food scare in Canada this summer

First it was tomatoes from the States with salmonella, then salmonella in Cilantro now its listeriosis in meat products! This last food scare is the worst yet. Quite a few people have actually died from food poisoning and the resulting infection.

The problem seems to originate from a Maple Leaf processing plant in Toronto.

I saw cottagers buy wood for their stoves today

The best thing though, was when I stopped at Traverse Bay Corner on my way back, to try the excelent turkey dinner at the Idle Thyme. I actually saw a man carrying a bag of wood for the fireplace out of the store!
